When you're running a small business, every pound counts. So before investing in digital marketing, it's completely reasonable to want to know what it costs and what you'll get for your money.
The trouble is that many agencies don't publish their prices, which makes comparing options difficult. I've always believed in being upfront, so in this guide I'll share our starting prices at Digital AdDoctor and explain what each service does, who it suits and what affects the cost.
Digital marketing prices at a glance
Here are our starting prices for the most common services:
| Service | Starting price |

| Google Ads Management | £450 per month |

You'll always receive clear pricing before any work begins. Our full price list, including hosting and smaller one-off services, is on the pricing page.
Advertising spend is separate from management fees
This is one of the most common sources of confusion, so it's worth being clear.
For paid advertising (Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram Ads), there are two separate costs:
- Advertising spend: the money paid directly to Google or Meta for your ads to run and be clicked.
- Management fee: what you pay a consultant or agency to plan, build, monitor and improve your campaigns.
At Digital AdDoctor, our management fees cover the expertise and ongoing work. Your advertising spend is always paid separately, directly to the ad platform, so you can see exactly where your money goes.
SEO: from £400 per month
SEO (search engine optimisation) helps your business appear in Google's unpaid search results, and increasingly in AI-powered search experiences such as Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT.
What it can include: technical improvements, keyword research, optimising service pages, content planning, local SEO, link building and monthly reporting.
Best for: businesses that want sustainable, long-term visibility and a steady flow of enquiries without paying for every click.
Worth knowing: SEO builds over time. It's an investment that typically takes several months to show its full value. I explain why in SEO Tunbridge Wells: how to get your business found on Google.
Google Ads management: from £450 per month
Google Ads places your business at the top of Google when people search for what you offer.
What it can include: keyword research, campaign set-up, ad copy, location targeting, conversion tracking, bid management, ongoing optimisation and reporting.
Best for: businesses that want enquiries quickly, have a clear service and want full control over targeting and budget.
Worth knowing: advertising spend is paid separately to Google. The right budget depends on your industry and goals. For a deeper look, read PPC Tunbridge Wells: is Google Ads worth it for local businesses?
Facebook & Instagram Ads: from £550 per month
Paid social advertising shows your business to people based on their location, interests and behaviour, even if they aren't actively searching.
What it can include: audience research, campaign strategy, creative and copy guidance, retargeting, lead generation campaigns and reporting.
Best for: building awareness, promoting events and offers, generating leads and selling products, especially for visual businesses such as hospitality, beauty, fitness and retail.
Worth knowing: creative matters enormously on social media. Advertising spend is paid separately to Meta.
Google Maps / Google Business Profile: from £150 per month
Your Google Business Profile is the listing that appears on Google Maps and in the local results when people search for businesses nearby.
What it can include: profile optimisation, categories and services, photos, posts, review strategy and ongoing updates.
Best for: any business that serves customers locally, from cafés and salons to tradespeople and clinics in Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas.
Worth knowing: for many local businesses, this is the most cost-effective place to start.
Website design & development: from £750 per project
Your website is where most of your marketing leads. If it's slow, confusing or hard to use on a phone, you'll lose enquiries no matter how good your advertising is.
What it can include: design, development, mobile optimisation, SEO foundations, conversion-focused layout and tracking set-up, on platforms such as WordPress and Wix.
Best for: new businesses, businesses with an outdated site, or anyone whose website isn't turning visitors into enquiries.
Worth knowing: the price depends on the number of pages and features. Website hosting is available separately.
Digital audit & strategy: £550
An independent review of your digital marketing, covering your website, SEO, advertising, tracking and competitors, with a clear, prioritised plan.
Best for: businesses that aren't sure what's working, want a second opinion or need a plan before investing further.
Google Ads audit: £250
A focused review of your existing Google Ads account, highlighting wasted spend, missed opportunities and practical improvements.
Best for: businesses already running Google Ads who want to know whether their budget is being used well.
How to decide where to start
If your budget is limited, it's better to do one thing well than several things badly. As a rough guide:
- Need enquiries quickly? Google Ads is often the fastest route.
- Serve customers locally? Start with your Google Business Profile.
- Thinking long term? Invest in SEO.
- Website not converting? Fix the website first, otherwise you'll pay to send people to a page that doesn't work.
- Not sure? An audit will give you a clear, independent plan.
